Prosecutor rejected a cruelty case last week because our body-cam audio dropped and the clip lacked a secure timestamp. For those working under similar evidence retention and public records laws, which BWC models and mounts have reliably preserved chain-of-custody from first contact to impound?
Had the same “audio dropped” problem; switching to Axon Body 3 with a Klick Fast shoulder dock gave us AES-encrypted files, GPS/NTP timestamps, and auto-upload with full audit logs (https://www.axon.com/products/axon-body-3). Mandate docking right after impound and enable pre-event audio; if you need a cheaper path, WatchGuard V300 worked but the magnetic mount spun during wrangles. @OP are rejections citing missing secure time specifically, or an incomplete audit trail?

We lost a case over a missing timestamp too — . Building on @n_white22, Motorola WatchGuard V300 with the magnet MOLLE plate has been rock solid for us: it stamps time at capture with a file hash, and Evidence Library records every handoff through impound. If you need a cheaper option, Reveal D-Series was fine, but use a chest harness or the collar rub will muffle audio.
