CE hours for exotic seizures

And looking for courses that combine exotic species law with safe handling procedures. I need 6 hours by March and prefer training that covers permit verification, lawful seizure/transport, and PPE-based capture for venomous reptiles and primates (ideally some hands-on with IATA CR82 crating and a 72-inch pole/bite shield).

I pieced mine together with a NACA webinar for permit/law and a zoo-hosted lab for PPE capture and transport; the combo was accepted for 6 CE hours before March — see https://www.nacanet.org/training-calendar. Quick tip: ask the lab to run a doorway drill with the 72-inch pole and shield and let you practice CR82-style tie-downs on an empty crate. Small caveat: CR82 in the IATA LAR is dog-focused; for primates/venomous species you’ll follow the species-specific sections, which saves a lot of “alphabet soup” confusion.

I hit my 6 by pairing IATA’s Live Animals Regulations e-course for permit verification and crating rules (they touch CR82) with a Saturday herp-society lab where we drilled PPE, a 72" pole, and a bite shield — our county vet co-signed so it counted for seizure/transport. Not cheap and some coordinators want pre-approval, so email the syllabus first; here’s the course I used: https://www.iata.org/en/training/courses/live-animals-regulations/.

County attorney webinar + state wildlife venomous lab got me 6; practiced ‘72-inch pole/bite shield’; CR82 was demo-only.
