I’ve been thinking about how we can better educate our neighborhoods about living alongside urban wildlife. Often, we encounter raccoons, skunks, and other animals, and there’s really not enough clear information on how to respond to sightings. I’d love to discuss potential outreach initiatives or workshops we could organize to make sure our community feels equipped and informed.
We had a raccoon raid last summer, and it was a mess! I found that simple signs about securing trash cans helped a lot. Maybe we can create flyers for distribution?
It’s so frustrating when wildlife gets into our garbage! Last summer, I started putting out my trash the morning of pickup instead of the night before, and it really helped cut down on raccoon visits. Maybe we could also host a workshop on other preventative measures, like using animal-proof bins. @jennifer_lucas32, what do you think?
